US scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years.

Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution.

The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing and have no heartbeat or brain activity.

But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock.

   Os "US scientists" ainda não reintroduziram o "blood" no "zombie man".

   Isso foi em parte descoberto na Guerra das Falklands. Muitos soldados Britânicos teriam morrido se não fossem as baixas temperaturas.
   Agora está-se a induzir isso em vez de depender da natureza.

   Já há alguns anos que se fazem operações ao cérebro humano em condições algo semelhantes, embora a técnica usada seja algo diferente e consiste em baixar a temperatura da cabeça humana aos - 90º c. Altura em que todos os sinais de vida desaparecem. Após retorno à temperatura normal todos os sinais de vida retornam. Mesmo após 12 horas.
